Gold prices recorded a historic record high on global exchanges, with gold futures climbing above the $5,300-per-ounce mark.
Gold futures for April delivery on the Comex rose by 3.52 percent to $5,300.8 an ounce. Spot gold also advanced, gaining 1.81 percent to $5,273 an ounce, according to trading data.
Meanwhile, silver futures for March delivery surged by 8.31 percent, reaching $114.733 an ounce.
